Gordon Watling, Chief Executive Officer
Gordon Watling was appointed as Chief Executive Officer on 1 October 2008, having served as Chief Operating Officer since joining the Group in November 2006. He was previously global engineering director of Honeywell's Electronic Sensing business from 2003 to 2006 and operations director of Invensys Energy Systems from 1998 to 2000, until he became development manager at HP/Agilent Technologies in 2000. Prior to that, he had operations, development and manufacturing roles at Schlumberger Industries between 1985 and 1997. |
John Hughes, Non-Executive Chairman
John Hughes joined the Group as non-executive Chairman in July 2010. John has more than 30 years experience in the management and strategic positioning of complex, high technology businesses. John has previously held senior positions with a number of leading technology companies, including Thales Group, Lucent Technologies and Hewlett-Packard. John is currently non-executive Chairman of Spectris plc, Telecity Group plc and Intec Telecom Systems plc. John also serves as an Alzheimer's Society Ambassador. |
Sion Kearsey, Non-Executive Director
Sion Kearsey is a founding member of Sepura and joined the Group in 2002. He is also a co-founder of Kelso Place Asset Management LLP, a private equity firm specialising in acquiring controlling interests in UK based companies. He was previously a Managing Director of Goldman Sachs International in its FICC Division. |
Tim Bunting, Senior Independent Non-Executive Director
Tim Bunting joined the Group on 19 April 2007. He is a Partner at Balderton Capital (formerly Benchmark Europe). Prior to joining Balderton Capital in 2007, he was a Managing Director of Goldman Sachs & Co. and spent 18 years at Goldman Sachs having held various roles including Global Head of Equity Capital Markets (2002 to 2005) and Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs International (2005 to 2006). He is a non-executive director of Yell Group plc, a Governor of Wellington College and a Trustee of the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity.Tim is the nominated Senior Independent Non-Executive Director |
Tony Illsley, Non-Executive Director
Tony Illsley joined the Group on 27 June 2007. His other nonexecutive directorships include GCAP Media plc and Northern Foods plc. He is also non-executive Chairman of Plastic Logic Limited and Velocix Limited. He formally served on the board of directors of easyJet PLC from 2000 to 2005 and prior to that he was Chief Executive of Telewest plc from 1998 to 2000. He held various roles at PepsiCo Inc. from 1984 to 1998, including President of Pepsi Cola Japan, Pepsi Cola Asia Pacific and Walker Snack Foods Limited. He has also held various senior marketing positions at Colgate Palmolive (UK) Limited from 1979 to 1984 and is currently a Trustee of the Whizz-Kidz children's charity. |
David Tilston, Non-Executive Director
David Tilston joined the Group on 1 July 2007 as a Non-Executive Director. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is also a Fellow of The Association of Corporate Treasurers where he is currently a member of its Audit and Remuneration Committees. He was Finance Director of Victrex plc from 1997 to 2000 and Finance Director of OverNet Data plc from 2000 to 2004, the latter of which was floated as an AIM listed company. He has also held senior finance roles in a number of FTSE 250 and other large UK plc companies. Until recently, David was interim Chief Financial Officer at SThree PLC. |
Carol Nunn, Company Secretary
Carol Nunn joined the Group in May 2009. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. She has previously held senior company secretarial roles at a wide range of Listed companies including: Wilson Connolly Holdings plc, Northgate Information Solutions plc and, more recently, The Alumasc Group plc. |
Jens Thostrup, Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Jens Thostrup joined the Group in 2003 to lead the International development of the business. He has more than 17 years' experience building and managing International sales teams and distribution networks. He worked for seven years at Philips Radio Communications Systems in Denmark, where he was responsible for GPS and satellite communication products worldwide. He was also sales and marketing director of Navigato which he co-founded in 1993. He was director of sales and general manager APAC at DanNet Singapore (a joint venture between IBM and Telecom Denmark) between 1997 and 2000, a role he subsequently carried out for Signal Soft Inc. between 2000 and 2002. |
Tim Woodruff, Chief Technology Officer
Tim Woodruff joined the group in May 2005 and is now the CTO. He has 20 years' experience in the development of hardware and software, within both the telecoms and defence industries as an engineer, project leader and development manager, developing and leading teams of over 300 engineers. Prior to joining Sepura he was responsible for NEC's GSM global software development team. He is responsible at Sepura for the requirements capture, specification and design of all products developed by Sepura. This includes radio terminals, accessories and support tools including those developed in-house and sub-contracted. |
Andrew Halley, Development Director
Andrew joined the group in November 2008 as Development Director and runs the teams responsible for the creation and delivery of new platforms, products and feature upgrades to Sepura's installed customer base. He has more than 18 years experience, working at the forefront of commercial and academic R&D. From 1991, he worked at the MPI and CERN on development of advanced software analysis & silicon projects before moving into industry in 2000. Prior to joining Sepura, Andrew held development, directorship and leadership roles at NemeriX, Motorola and TTPCom working in teams to create and deliver new GPS, WiMAX, 3GPP and embedded application products. |
Duncan Crouch, Operations Director
Duncan was one of the founder members of Sepura in 2002. He has over 20 years experience in international Operations Management within the Private Mobile Radio Industry. He has been involved with the growth of Tetra Radio since its inception in the late 1990's, working in senior operations roles within Simoco Digital Systems Ltd, and Philips Radio Communications Ltd. |
